Since I’ve written something here it’s been a few months. I’d like to say I was busy, but I was really just living island life – without a watch and without an agenda. The idea that my time here is almost up (LESS than one month left), is frightening. With still so much to do – so many things to see, mountains to climb, beaches to visit, lessons to teach my students, I don’t like thinking about the fact that in a month my ‘home’ here won’t be mine anymore. On the other hand, I am ridiculously excited that in a month I will be able to step into a grocery store and afford a box of strawberries, that I’ll be able to step into a mall with AC and immediately connect to wifi, and that ‘cocowifi’ will be a thing of the past.
With my time here ending, it seems important to talk about what I’ve learned and what this experience has meant to me, so here it is in a nutshell:

This is so true and so well written my child . I am so happy for you to have that experience , so proud that to you have guts and stamina to survive and persevere! If I wouldn't make that trip to you I probably would not understand exactly what you are trying to say but because I did ( I am so happy ) I completely do . Because I think my biggest learning started at age of 26 when I actually change my life by leaving my nest and without knowing how to speak any foreigner language left my country ! I am so happy that you had a chance to take take journey in maybe smaller version but this is a very good beginning ... I am sure that your curiosity and passion will take you to many more places and each journey you take will be a fantastic one .. hope to always hear and read about them and better yet - always experience at least few weeks with you there ! Love , MOM

Marcelka I am really proud that you are able to see things with such maturity at your age. I can see a bit of Brenne Brown here and there, and I think these lessons will serve you well for life. I can relate to many things you say! I can't wait to continue our discussion when I see you again. Which brings me to asking - when are you coming babe? Xx

Nicely written memo. Great and unique experience that resulted with lifetime learnings on both sides of an "equation" (her & her students). I hope Marcela would continue on this path, challenging herself even further, fulfilling her desires to help others and at the end her life journeys fill rewarded herself.
